It takes about 2-3 week for the approval process of Google.
However, it may also taken 2-3 days, if they have reviewed their website and found the content valid and good which meets their standard guidelines, it will immediately approved.
However, if there is rejection process, then they will update you why it was rejection.
It depends on the website you have provided on the registration process.
Some of the important that they look into are:
1) Website should be at least 6 months.
2) The posting that you have made should be valid and have good content.
3) They have certain guidelines which needs to meet their requirements.

As webmaster has adviced you, follow his suggestion for the approval of Google AdSense account.
Here I want to advice you that you must complete your Gold Level and your profile must be 6 months old on this website for approval of AdSense Account.
You must contribute enough aricles, posts, etc in different sections like Resource, Fourm, Business, Jobs, etc sections.
Your contribution must be self written and of good quality.
