Do we really need that many shopping malls?
Bangalore city is becoming the next concrete jungle after Mumbai. Everyday we see a new apartment, posh villa or a Shopping Mall spuring up on the cost of greenery for which "Bangalore city" was once known for. This has been affected to soaring increase in heat, pollution, less rains and city is loosing its charms for these Concrete infrastructure..
Do you really think Bangalore needs a Mall every day or hundreds of tree planted every day
Some of the infrastructure project in place
A giant mall is coming up at the ex-ramkumar mills - rajajinagar entrance for clariy. but do we need such a big mall? We don't have good speciality hospital within the city limits, a good specailaity hospital could have been built, or good recreation area for all age-groups could have been made.
The erstwile Sampige theatre in Malleswaram now has been replaced with the Mantrii Mall- did we need it. The regular visitors to such malls would only pollute the city and congest the place more than necessary.
Just think of the how much electricity that these shpping malls consume. If at all we could bring in some greenery within our residential area we could atleast breathe fresh air.
Why are we making every next building a commercial complex. If one wants to create commercial complexes, where will people stay.
Its time the residents of bangalore wake up and stop these mall-mall business.
Why turn a residential place into a commercial place- are we not decongesting our place of living. Think of the practical problems, the traffic chaos, the problem a pedestrian faces.
Already we have street hawkers encroached on the pavements, added to that we are know witnessing malls are being open at every corner of the street.
Only the localites should save Bangalore lest bangalore will turn into an urban slum.
