Traffic jams, water-logging, electrocution, tree uprooting is not a tale from twister but what Bangaloreans had to face on Friday September 18, 2009. Adding to the woes created by mother nature was Bangalore's crumbling infrastructure. A recent incident where another child was washed away through an open drain brings to light the apathy of our administrators. Not until a prominent personalities child has the same fate will these authorities open their eyes. It is not due to lack of funds that the government is not clearing the drainage systems, repairing roads and ensuring proper traffic but due to sheer inertia.
