Review This is one museum that I would highly recommend both for adults and children, irrespective of age group. The picture of a museum in ones mind is generally of just exhibits on display, huge rooms that tire you out as you move from one exhibit to another, and generally a visit that bores you no end! Well, let me tell you that the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM) will change your views of museums forever. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Bengaluru, and also happened to be the most enjoyable part of it. Yes, some of the rooms are large and it does take time to see everything, but believe me it is well worth the time and energy!
The main reason why boredom is kept at bay is that there are numerous interactive exhibits. That is, there is no tape to bar your access - you can acutally touch things in these exhibits. One such interactive exhibit is where you can make your own tornado at a press of a button. Then there is one where you appear to have a bodyless head - this is definitely a photographic moment to click and show off to friends. Then there is a weighing machine stating that 70% of body is made of water so once our weight was registered, we had to press a button and water would rise in a calibrated cylinder and let us know how much of us was water. Interesting, dont you think?! Naturally, there are exhibits that are meant to be viewed only and not messed around with so dont cross the tape and fool around! We also saw a 3-D film there. It was really hilarious when everybody without exception ducked their heads quickly when it seemed as though snakes and dinosaurs appeared to come toward us.
Go - visit this museum!
